Weekend Wardrobe: Burgundy, Deep Teal, Black, and White 4x4 Wardrobe

This week I am exploring color combinations that do not necessarily say "autumn" to me, although that does not mean they will not work for the season.  The Fair Indigo website has a good selection of apparel in lovely shades of burgundy and deep teal, and when combined with black and white I found these colors to be a great option for a cool weather 4x4 wardrobe.  Teal and burgundy may not be the first combination that comes to mind when choosing colors, but in my opinion these hues can look great together, especially when paired with black and white as neutrals.  Take a look and see if you agree.

The first set pairs a couple of burgundy pieces with basic black and white tops:

The second set introduces mostly deep teal items, with a bit of white as an alternative top:

The third set adds two more basic black neutral items plus two tops, a deep teal sweater plus a burgundy short-sleeved shirt which introduces a black and white leopard print pattern to the mix:

Personally I have no problem pairing blue-green and reddish-purple apparel items, but not everyone might be comfortable with this option, and that's okay.  It would be pretty easy to switch out one or both of the accent colors in this basic 4x4 wardrobe for something you like better.  Next week I will focus on the accessories for this wardrobe and, who knows, maybe these additions will change some minds!
