Early daffodils and Lenten roses are making a valiant attempt to herald spring's arrival here in Georgia! |
Spring apparel is starting to show up in stores and online. After last week's cold spell, the considerably warmer weather that arrived over the weekend has those of us in Georgia thinking thoughts of spring. Believe it or not, our early daffodils are already blooming. In fact, we are supposed to get temperatures in the low 70s this week! Even though our state's official Groundhog Day weather prognosticator, General Beauregard Lee, forecast six more weeks of winter for us, at the moment we are inclined not to believe him. In defiance of our beloved but hopefully mistaken weather-predicting rodent, I have put together a wardrobe that will accommodate travel to any area where temperatures are on the milder side. Sorry, General Lee, but it is time to leave winter behind and think ahead to balmier weather!

Anyway, onward to the travel wardrobe, for a trip that is rather longer than just a weekend and which does still include some warm items to deal with the remnants of winter that may decide to stick around. Once again I chose colors based on a cozy sweater, but this sweater features mostly pastels. While pastels are not my colors of choice, they do make one think of spring, and I love the fact that this pullover has one copper-colored band as well as narrow iridescent stripes that add more options to the color palette.
Here are the items to wear in transit:
Clockwise from top left: Kay Jewelers Puffed Heart Earrings in 14K Rose Gold; Kate Spade New York Lovebirds Scarf in Pink Majolica; Foster Grant Hannah Sunglasses in Rose/Rose Gold; Stella McCartney Wool Blazer in Tulip Pink; Fossil Neely Three-Hand Iridescent Stainless Steel Watch; Travelpro Maxlite 5 22" Carry-On Rollaboard in Dusty Rose; Travelpro Maxlite 5 Women's Tote in Dusty Rose; Kenneth Cole New York Women's Tyler Sneaker in Copper Leather; Land's End Women's Mid Rise Straight Leg Colorful Jeans in Vintage Berry; Land's End School Uniform Women's Long Sleeve Fem Fit Essential Tee in Chambray Blue. |
And now for the rest of the wardrobe to pack:

For all I know we could see a return to frigid temperatures next week, but right now I am going to enjoy our reprieve from winter this week and pretend that short-sleeve weather is already here! Next week I will probably focus on some appropriate apparel for Valentine's Day, and after that I'm thinking more spring attire will be forthcoming, perhaps with a southwestern flair since we will hopefully be closing on our New Mexico home near the end of the month. Here's hoping everyone is enjoying a respite from cold and/or snowy weather just like we are here in Georgia!
