On April 9th, Target will launch the new Victoria Beckham for Target clothing line.  Is everyone buzzing with excitement?  I am sure it will sell out in no time, just like the insanely popular Missoni and Lilly Pulitzer collections from past years.  I have no intention of participating in the mad dash to empty Target stores and websites of these limited quantity items, but it was fun to browse their website to see if any of the items caught my eye.  Nature lover that I am, the one piece that really attracted me was the Women's Bee Print Button Down Top ($30) with its mandarin collar and whimsical print (it's just "the bee's knees" in my opinion!).  I decided it would be fun to create an offbeat 4x4 wardrobe using the bee shirt as inspiration, along with a few other pieces from the collection.

Now let's get busy with this bumblebee flight of fancy!  Here is my first set of four:

Clockwise from top left: Victoria Beckham for Target Women's Bee Print Button Down Top; L.L. Bean women's Classic Cashmere Open Cardigan in Classic Black; Victoria Beckham for Target Women's White Button Down Top; Fair Indigo Slim Leg Fair Trade Ponte Pants in Black.

What is a bee without honey?  Time to add a little honey color to the second set of four:

Clockwise from top left: Fair Indigo Scoop Neck Fair Trade T-Shirt in Honey; Jaeger Bee Print Tie Neck Blouse; Victoria Beckham for Target Women's White Poplin Gathered Waist Top; Fair Indigo Fair Trade Organic Full Skirt in Black.

Bees need flowers!  A few show up in the third set of four:

Clockwise from top left: Design by Humans Bumble Bee Pattern T Shirt in White; Coldwater Creek Marigold Appliqué Cardigan; Vince Stretch-Knit Dress in Black; Coldwater Creek Pull-On Day-to-Dinner Ankle Pants in White.

And bees need stripes?  Well, they do in my last set of four:

Clockwise from top left: Coldwater Creek Essential Supima Crewneck Tee in Black; Serengeti Shimmering Bee Stripe Top; Coldwater Creek Essential Supima Stand-Neck Tee in White; Coldwater Creek The Creek Straight-Leg Jeans in Honey.

Put all four sets together and we get this sweet-as-honey 4x4 wardrobe:

I hope you've enjoyed this little foray into hymenopteran fashion!  By the time I post next week's bee-themed accessories for this 4x4 collection I am sure that every Victoria Beckham for Target item will be long gone.  If you really want to purchase something, be sure to make a beeline to your nearest Target store or website tomorrow as early as possible.  And even if you miss out, you can ease the sting a little by checking out my posts for other "bee-utiful" options!
