We have a camellia bush that is supposed to bloom around Christmas, but this is the first year it actually bloomed on Christmas day! We had two days of torrential rain, and then yesterday the temperature got very warm and we even got to see the sun off and on all day, so perhaps the sudden heat wave and sunshine encouraged the buds to open. Our forsythias have been flowering for a couple of weeks, as has our Carolina jessamine, and one poor deluded azalea has opened a few blossoms. The super warm weather is totally confusing our plants, so it will be interesting to see what happens in the spring!
