I also wanted to take the opportunity here to mention and thank the wonderful US Olympic athletes who took it upon themselves to rescue a few of the many stray dogs in Sochi, and also the Russians who are making an effort to provide shelter for even more. They turned a
tale of horror into
one of hope for these poor pups, and they are a good reminder to us all that even the smallest effort can have a big impact on the lives of less fortunate beings, both animal and human.
