This 'n That Thursdays: Halloween Colors-Inspired Living Room

The Addams Family-friendly living room
(from Hooked on Houses)

Is it possible to design a room that is both Halloween friendly as well as appropriate for the rest of the year (unless, of course, you are the Addams Family, in which case anything goes)?  It depends upon personal tastes, of course, but I do think this idea can be pulled off successfully.  Just take a look at my style board below:

Orange and black sofa from Contemporist;  Lone Wolves giclée print by Alex Cherry from Art.com; Black Cat Lamp by Dunelm Mill from House to Home; Grand Illusion Side Table from Horne; Oppo O52A Chair by BLÅ STATION; Bullet Coffee Table by Alexandra von Furstenberg; Center: Rocks Rug by Carmen Stallbaumer from AllModern; Center background: Light Grey White Wash Engineered Oak Wood Flooring from SIHE WOOD.

The lovely furniture in this room concept includes an unusual modern sofa, coffin-like coffee table, ghostly side tables, and an eerie chair that looks like a strange creature ready to give a monstrous hug.  Elegant black cat lamps and abstract wolf artwork suggest Halloween, but in a sophisticated way.  Everything is anchored by the rug in Halloween colors and grounded by the pale grey wooden flooring, while white walls would keep the space from looking too gloomy.  This may not be the living room for everybody, but I find it quite acceptable for both Halloween festivities and everyday living.  I would be happy to have this room in my home!
